Looking for past papers and mark schemes? They’re free on Cambridge’s own site, and I’ve listed the links below.

Past papers

Where to get past papers

Cambridge doesn't allow its papers to be published on any other website, so you won't find them here. Every link below goes to Cambridge, where they're free.

O Level

O Level Economics

Cambridge O Level Economics 2281

Cambridge gives away the June 2024 papers with their mark schemes, the examiner report for that series, and the specimen papers for exams from 2027.

2281/11, 2281/12, 2281/13
Paper 1, the multiple choice paper. The last digit is only the version for a different part of the world, so any of them is good practice.
2281/21, 2281/22, 2281/23
Paper 2, the structured questions. Same idea: pick any version.
2281/01 and 2281/02
Specimen papers, which Cambridge writes as examples. These are the ones to use if you sit the exam in 2027 or later.

A Level

AS & A Level Economics

Cambridge International AS & A Level Economics 9708

Cambridge gives away the June 2024 papers for components 11, 21, 31 and 41 with their mark schemes, the examiner report for that series, and the four specimen papers with mark schemes.

9708/11, 9708/12, 9708/13
Paper 1, AS Level multiple choice. 1 hour, 30 marks.
9708/21, 9708/22, 9708/23
Paper 2, AS Level data response and essays. 2 hours, 60 marks.
9708/31, 9708/32, 9708/33
Paper 3, A Level multiple choice. 1 hour 15 minutes, 30 marks. Second year only.
9708/41, 9708/42, 9708/43
Paper 4, A Level data response and essays. 2 hours, 60 marks. Second year only.
  • If your exam is in 2027 or later, start with the specimen papers

The O Level papers change in 2027. Paper 1 becomes 40 questions in 1 hour, and Paper 2 becomes 80 marks in 2 hours. The June 2024 papers on Cambridge's site still use the old format, so use them for the topics and the specimen papers for the timing.

  • Check the code on the front page

Cambridge's O Level page currently lists a Paper 11 file that opens an A Level paper instead. Before you start, look at the top of the first page: it should say 2281 for O Level or 9708 for AS and A Level. This was true when I checked in September 2026.

  • For older papers, ask your school

Cambridge only publishes one free series plus the specimens. The full archive sits in the School Support Hub, which teachers at registered Cambridge schools can open. If your school teaches Cambridge, your teacher can print older papers for you.

  • Sitting the exam privately

If you don't study at a Cambridge school, you enter through a centre that accepts private candidates. That centre handles your entry, your timetable and your statement of entry.

How to enter as a private candidate. I don’t host any Cambridge papers or mark schemes on this site, because Cambridge's terms for using their material says they may not be published anywhere else.

Practise with me in a trial class.

Notes help you understand a topic. To get marks, you also need to write good exam answers. In a trial class, I teach one topic you find hard. Then you write one exam-style answer and I mark it.
